I haven't owned this scale very long but I am very happy with it. It is easy to read and easy to turn on. Rather than tapping in the spot indicated I just lift a corner and sit it down lightly and it comes right on. The service was on time and I am very happy with this purchase and would definately buy other products from this company.

It's hard to believe that more than 1000 people have given primarily glowing reviews to this scale. Yes, it works, yes, it looks nice. It may even be accurate (I'm not sure) but it couldn't be more of a pain to use. And who wants a scale that's hard to use?? Just look at all the reviews that give hints about how to make it work (since it doesn't work the way it's supposed to) -- drop tennis balls on it, hit it hard with the heel of your foot, lift the front up with your toes, etc etc. I stupidly thought I'd be able to make it work and I went ahead and bought it.
Now, if you keep your scale in one place all the time, maybe it works fine but if you keep your scale in the cupboard and take it out to weigh yourself, DO NOT BUY THIS SCALE. Everytime you take it out of the cupboard, you'll get a weight reading of something like 4.6 pounds. Even the directions acknowledge this. You have to wait 1-2 minutes for that weight to clear. Then, hit the scale with tennis balls or lift it with the front of your foot or whatever and it will show 0 and THEN you can weigh yourself. I don't have that kind of time.
I gave it 2 stars because it's easy to read the numbers and it is attractive But I'm sending it back.
Oh, by the way, it's very heavy.

Despite the first product feature listed being "No more tapping scale to turn on", the model I received requires tapping. Additionally, its capacity is 330 lbs instead of 400 lbs. (Although, I hope that the higher capacity is never needed :) So, this review is about bad (and, I really hope non-intentional) implementation of shipment; not the scale itself.
Of course, Amazon, as usual, made returning the scale and getting a refund very easy.

Perhaps it shouldn't matter what this product looks like so long as it's accurate and easy to use. Well lucky for me both are true. Great scale VERY accurate. If you're a skeptic like me try weighing yourself then again holding a light object to check the difference, it is quite sensitive. The initial start up does take some getting used to, the first few times I had a hard time waking the scale up. A "slightly more than" light heel tap on the red sticker works for me.

The scale is very difficult to turn on. The scale says tap on it, but I have to step on it several times for it to turn on. And if that doesn't work you have to lift it up and set it down several times. Lot of effort for what was a 3 second process with my old scale. Very disappointing since I purchased this item based exclusively on the reviews. I am writing this review to save others the aggrevation of getting a poor quality product. My recommendation is to go with a well known brand. By the way I purchased this scale to replace a 30 year old Terraillon.Guess I should have taken my own advice.
