Using this to track allergies (2010-03-15) : 5/5
I love this little gadget! It works perfectly for what I need. I am tracking my food reactions and allergies with it and it works like a charm.
I use conductive gel under the electrodes and it always works. I think most people who are dissatisfied with it don't use the gel or water and that's necessary to send the impulse.
I check my resting pulse then eat a suspect food alone and then check the pulse again in a resting state after half an hour and an hour. I have found allergies I didn't suspect this way and cleared foods that I thought were allergies.
Love it, love it!
erratic (2010-03-14) : 3/5
Positives:
easily readable, easy to use and set up, waterproof
Negatives:
Reads erratically. Heart rate bounces from 40 to 180 within a few seconds.
I sent it back a few days ago after calling their service dept. I'll wait and see what happens.
Works fine (2010-03-12) : 5/5
Works as advertised, found my work-outs were way over my target heart rate. Going to stop killing myself and work-out at a good rate (80%).
Good value (2010-03-09) : 5/5
Order process was easy, delivery was prompt, Heart rate monitor does what is claimed. I use the monitor to gauge my pace on a treadmill to improve endurance and physical ability without overdoing the exercise for my age.
Omron Heart Rate Monitor (2010-03-08) : 4/5
The unit works just fine.
But silly me, when I read that it had a high/low alarm I thought the alarm was audible. Nope, a little heart flashes on the watch which is nice if you can keep looking at the watch.
Omron didn't lie, but I think 'indicator' would have been a better description.
